PROJECT NOTES
A sculpture collaboration for Four Seasons New Orleans, drawing on the ornamental ironwork of the city’s homes and French Quarter balconies.
Geometric structures and intricate scrollwork bring that visual heritage into the hotel and residential corridors. The works also help guests orient themselves within the building.

DESIGN CONTEXT
New Orleans’ ornamental ironwork supplies the project’s visual vocabulary. The sculpture brings the relationship between geometric framing and curved scrollwork into a hospitality setting, connecting the interior experience to the character of the city.
The installation views place the work in corridors and residential spaces. At a distance, the silhouette reads as a marker within the architecture; up close, the pattern and open space between elements reveal the detail of the composition.
COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE
This project is presented as a collaboration with Young Artist Movement under lead artist mentor Rontherin Ratliff. The studio photographs and installed views show both the making context and the relationship between the sculptures and their final surroundings.
The work connects sculpture, pattern and spatial presentation. The full team credits below preserve the collaborative authorship of the installation.
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT / SKETCH TO SCULPTURE
The sketch comparisons connect early composition studies to the finished ironwork. Circular frames establish the overall structure, while scrolls and branching details introduce movement within and beyond their boundaries.
Seen together, the drawings and installations reveal how the designs evolved: simple gestures become layered ornament, and open areas become an active part of the composition.

FABRICATION / WORKSHOP
The workshop photographs document welding and the shared fabrication environment. They bring the material work into view: separate metal elements are arranged and joined as the sculptures take shape.
These images sit alongside the project’s full collaboration credits, connecting the finished installation to the collective work behind it.

PROCESS ARCHIVE / CONSTRUCTION
Construction footage from the Four Seasons project adds a closer view of the making process to the finished installation photographs. These original clips document work in progress within the collaborative project.
